Knoch Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Knoch?

Our main plant is located on the outskirts of London Ontario Canada. We are located in the new Municipality of Thames Centre formally known as North Dorchester Township less than 5 miles from the London International Airport. A second plant, located in south London has recently been expanded to 11,000 square feet.

How many employees does Knoch have?

We currently employ 100 people.

What are your hours of operation?

Currently we operate a three shift operation from 11:00 pm Sunday until 11:00 am Saturday. Engineering support is available on site from 6:00 am until 6:00 pm and on call. General office and administrative hours are from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm weekdays EST.

Why is it called Knoch?

Our founder Werner Knoch started the business as a pipe organ shop back in the early sixties. It progressed into small machining and grew from there into CNC machining.

What type of Engineering support do you have?

Process and continuous improvement engineering is available on site.

What are your charge out rates?

Rates are determined with a mix of part complexity, volume, machinery required and skill level needed. The best thing to do is submit a RFQ for a response.

Do you only machine metals?

No. We have had vast experience with metals, common and exotic but we also have done work in plastics, nylon, and others.

Do you do any assembly work?

Yes, we do electro-mechanical assembly as well as small and large part assembly. We purchase as well as produce the components that are specified by the customer.

Do you do all processes in house?

No, we have an extensive list of partners that we work with to plate, paint, hone, heat treat, mark, dynamic balance, wire EDM, and package products.

I require auto parts reworked but do not want to ship them back to the original manufacturer because of time constraints. Can Knoch help?

Yes, we have provided these services to many manufacturers who ship to auto plants in Southwestern Ontario.

I have a short term overload in my shop. Can Knoch help?

We have a variety of capabilities which we would be pleased to assist you with your requirements.

Can Knoch do aluminum welding?

Yes we do production aluminum welding as well as custom aluminum welding.

I have the design but do not have the facilities for production. Can I use Knoch as an initial production house?

Yes we have assisted many companies in their initial start up stages.
